Port Aransas Beach Trip 2012- Day 1

It is finally time for our family vacation..yes, in September. Two reasons: 1. It was the 1st available time we could all get together and 2. It was way cheaper to go after Labor Day. So Ethan played hookie from school and we and the Ebroms left pretty early Friday morning to head to the Aquarium. The kids had a blast! After, we met Chris and Ashley for lunch and then headed to the ferry. Once we were checked in at our house we waited for the Harrisons before going to the beach. Despite the chilly wind, we had a great first day on the beach!

The kiddos could not wait to get to the water! I snapped this shot of their first impressions of the chilly water!



Unfortunatley, Jacob wasn't walking exclusively yet, so he was on the sand a bit. Not much though. I guess he got his parent's dislike for the sand!

Popsicles In the Bath

Some of our best friends introduced us to the concept of popsicles in the bath..that way they don't make a mess anywhere! Its genius, really, and our boys ask for it almost every night! We'll have to pick a different 'treat' after dinner once winter comes, though!

Welcome Kiddos!

Today was Isaiah's 1st day of Mrs. Theresa's class at preschool! He was more than excited! Check out his thumbs up to himself in the mirror! LOL!

 

We love Mrs. 'Tawesa' (the way Isaiah says it cause he can't say his r's)! Its gonna be a great year!

Isaiah's 4th Birthday

Happy birthday to my sweet Isaiah!! I can't believe he's four already! Such a big boy he's becoming too! This year we are doing things a little different..instead of having a big party, we are going to have a joint party with Ellie at the beach! We are going in a week and thought that would be a great time to celebrate. BUT, can't let his actual birthday go un-celebrated! So we met my mom, Nick, Ash, and Dan at Red Robin (he loves the fries there) before church. My mom and I found some additional Geotrax sets at a second hand store for his gift...and I was so excited to give it to him. Unfortunately, when its all mixed in several bags its hard to see the big picture. So his reaction wasn't what I was hoping for but he was still excited. Can't wait to build a big track for him!

 After church, we zipped over to Krispy Kreme for a special birthday donut. Its become kinda a tradition now. The Ebroms joined us, which was a special bonus!

 The next day, while Isaiah was at preschool, I put together his HUGE train track for him.

 Obviously, he's in LOVE...and so am I!

Tower Of America Visit

We have been promising Ethan, um, since his birthday, that we would take him to the Tower. Well here we are, 7 months later, FINALLY going! The boys were SO excited! And to top it off, Grammy and Papa came too! We had a great time, enjoyed looking at the city from up above, and even saw a cool "show". Followed by pizza and ice cream, this was a really fun family day!

 Ok, please excuse my hair. We were in what felt like a wind tunnel!!

Ethan's First Day of 1st Grade

Time for school again! I am so thankful my big boy still wants to take pictures with me! I will be so sad when the day comes and I'll be begging him to spend time with me. He was very excited, as always, to go to school! This year, he gets to go to the playground, and then line up with his class outside their door when the bell rings. Its gonna be a great year!

Getting Out

It seems that we haven't done much the latter half of the summer. The first month we pretty much had something to do everyday. I think that kinda spoiled the kids a bit because as the summer moved on and it got hotter and hotter, we didn't do much outdoors. So on Wednesday we went to the local park and the boys were so giddy! Happy boys makes for a happy mommy!

 

 

Then we had a special day that the boys had been looking forward to for a week: Josh took the day off, Jacob went to spend time with Grammy, and we hit Sea World for our last outing before school. Whats so great about going with daddy and without Jacob is the boys get to ride all the rides! We went with the Gibbins boys and they all had a blast together. And the parents had fun riding the "big" rides in the water park, too!
