Lifegroup Pool Party

Our Lifegroup social this weekend was at a friend's backyard pool (thanks Cindi!!). We had so much fun...even with the rain! I think the kids liked swimming in the rain better than anything, and the diving board was a hit with the big boys, of course. Good times!

June In A Snap

Ok, I called this post 'June in a snap' because it just flew by us! I am behind on my blogging so I am posting all of June in one. We did lots this month: our Sea World adventures began, lots of trips to the park, ice cream outings, Nicaragua fundraising, swimming, and the Children's Museum. Its been a great start to the summer! Oh, and by the way, my camera started working again and all my pictures were saved! Woohoo!

So Bummed...

Well, it happened. I dropped my camera in the pool. Yep, I'm dumb. I kept taking pictures of the boys swimming and having fun at Sea World, all the while thinking, "I really should stop taking pictures around the water." So last Friday it slipped out of my hand and into the pool. We quickly dried everything and put it, the battery, and the card in a bag of rice, hoping it would revive itself. Well, I checked it yesterday and got nothing. So I'm pretty sure I lost all the pics from about half the month...I guess it could be worse. Glad I kept the old camera so at least I can still take pictures. Don't laugh at me when you see how huge it is...

Jacob 9 Months

I know I say this every month, but its so true...its hard to believe Jacob is already 9 mths old! And what milestones he is finally achieving! Starting with stats; he weighs 20 lbs (about the 60th%) and is 27 inches long. He is picking up finger foods now and can hold his own cup. He is crawling too! He has been working really hard at it and around the end of the month he finally got it down! He's such a cute crawler. He absolutely loves bath time and likes to "brush" his teeth. He also has a fascination with the dog..loves to pull her hair. Thankfully, she is a very sweet dog and doesn't mind too much. He's even understanding words now too: dog, mama, dada, brothers, night night. He will look for the person when you say the name. We are down to 4 feedings a day and he is eating lunch and dinner with us. Still working on the breakfast. Will probably add that one in when we drop another feeding..who knows. It changes all the time, doesn't it?

Ethan's Last Day of Kindergarten

Well, we made it! Today is Ethan's last day of kinder! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! Its so true that your children grow up in the blink of an eye. Makes me so thankful I am able to take pictures to capture all the great moments, so that when they really are gone, I can look back and see the pictures of what life used to be. Anyway, this is his first and last days of kinder. He looks much more confident in the second one!

Cool Dudes

Ethan is really into basketball right now. I mean, he is playing all the time! I love that we have a hoop in the backyard so he can practice. He and daddy scrimmage and work on his shooting...and I have to say, he is good! Today was a bit sunny, like most days, and he couldn't see, so he grabbed some shades. Of course, Isaiah needed some too. And what do you know? Isaiah's are pink (his favorite color)! God blessed me with some handsome boys!

Isaiah's Program/Last Day of Mrs. Colleen's Class

So today was Isaiah's first preschool program...with Mrs. Colleen's class. Such a cute program! Started with the pledge, then they all sang a song together. Then each class had their own song they had prepared. Isaiah loved it!
Look how excited he is to see us!!

We are missing 2 here..a little stage fright for Holden and Liam. Maybe Adam and Lachlan scared them off with their bellies! HA!

Isaiah's last day of preschool..for this year at least. He had an ice cream party!! His favorite!

Isaiah with Mrs. Colleen...we LOVE our Colleen!

Mother's Day

This Mother's day was very sweet. My boys each did an "All About My Mom" questionnaire and each one brought me to tears. Not because I was surprised at my boys for being so sweet, but I guess because, to them, I am perfect...despite all my not-so-perfect moments. And that made me tear up because I am pretty hard on myself as a mother. I want to be the mother God created me to be, the mother who, everyday, shows the love of God through my actions and words. Many days I don't measure up, even a little bit. But I know that they love me anyway, affirming it through their writings of me. They also (along with Josh) gave me some beautiful flowers!

Josh's gift to me is my weekend away with the girls! And I can't wait for that!

First Sleepover

Ethan had his first ever sleepover (without Josh) tonight at Reef's house, after the Angry Birds birthday party. I was SHOCKED to hear that they were up til 10:15! Shocked, not because he stayed up that late, but because the Gibbins are always in bed between 7 & 7:30! I'm glad they had a fun time!

Riding the Bus

Today was the first day Ethan rode the bus home from school! I finally gave in, with 3 weeks left of school. I am already lovin' not having to wake both Jacob and Isaiah up from their naps to pick him up from school...and when I saw his face coming off the bus...I knew it was a good decision for all. He literally came RUNNING off the bus, he was so overjoyed!
Sorry you can't actually see his face...but there is a huge smile on it!
